The Muir Gheal Story
My father, Damien Ó Ceallacháin, started Muir Gheal Teo in 1982, based in Connemara in the heart of the Gaeltacht. He was a passionate advocate for the Irish aquaculture industry and the Irish language.
I've been involved in aquaculture since my earliest memories, working alongside my father on the turmecs. He fuelled my passion for this industry, and it's a privilege for me to be able to use the Muir Gheal name as we try to bring some of that passion and enthusiasm back.
Since 2023, Muir Gheal Aquaculture has focused on bringing the best of Irish innovation together with proven international technologies. We're bringing in advances from other aquaculture-rich areas of the world, whether that's HDPE vessels or diesel outboards.
